finished movie will not save

When I go to "File", then "Save Movie As:" I leave the default settings for
best computer play back quality. Then when I try to save the movie, after
several minutes of nothing, I get the following error:
Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify
that the original source file used in your movie are still available, that
the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk
space available, and then try again.
I can save the movie if I change the settings to the lowest possible
quality, but it looks like garbage. At the default settings it says I need
204MB of free space and that I have 15GB of free space.
Any idea what is causing this error?
Thank you,
Mike O.

Well since it allows you to save under the lower settings it isn't a problem
with one of the clips and it apparently isn't a problem with space so the
next thing, although the error message doesn't say so, is that the project
is too complex. If it is a large project then this is a possibility so I
would try splitting it into segments saving each as a separate video file
then importing them and putting them together for a final movie. For more
specific instruction see my websites Movie Maker trouble shooting section.
