Hi,

I have seen on the web a company that make and sells fingertip readers, they
have all the drivers for Vista and Vista64, but the drivers only, do I need
anything else to use such device with Vista64 + SP1

The only thing they told me is that the drivers are available for both VIsta
and Vista64, so if I plug this device instead of having to type my ID I just
need to swipe a finger, or do I need something else

Install the drivers. If that's what the mfg told you to do then what do we
know.

That's the thing, before I purchase the device I want to know if it will
work the proper, or if I need to install something else to make it work

I'm thinking that maybe Vista does inlcudes all that's needed, and I just
need to add the device

If Vista includes everything, then you won't have to install anything else.
Obvious !
But more likely you will have to download the drivers (probably include
some software) from the manufacturer's web site.

By the way, Microsoft has a fingerprint reader. It well work with Vista.
But any other brand offering Vista drivers should also work correctly.

The Microsoft's figertip reader does not work with Vista64

The fingertip reader that I look t include only the driver for both Vista
and Vista 64, the manufacturer provide only the drivers

If you have misgivings simply don't buy it.

Thank You in Advance
Merci a l'avance

But some of them are already installed/in use with a lot of laptop, and from
what I have been told there is no application with them, unless it was
hardwire in the laptop

Then buy the d*mned thing and be done with it. Why are you agonizing over
this? If someone here used the particular reader you are considering they
would have contributed by now. Just buy from an outlet where you can get a
refund if it doesn't work out, that's all.

All I am asking since the first message, IS do I need anything else to make
it work or does Vista already provide what I need

This is a peer to peer newsgroup. If anyone happens to have the item you
are considering they will tell you. Otherwise, proceed with the info you do
have.
