What's the fastest way to find the ver/rev of the above board?

Will it be posted on the serial number on the outside of the box....on the
board itself?

I just bought this board and was looking for the "updates" and noticed
everyone talking about 2.0.

It doesn't say anything about 2.0 on any stickers on the box...perhaps I
should return it and find a newer version of this board?

TIA

OK...

Found on the US Asus website that the version is printed on the PCB.
This was found on the specs for the non-"E" version.
cut and paste
<Starting from PCB version 2.0, The A7N8X motherboard supports Front Side
Bus
(FSB) 400. The PCB (Printed Circuit Board) version is located beside the
motherboard name printed on the motherboard. PCB 2.0 BIOS version or later
are not compatible with PCB 1.06 or earlier BIOS versions>

The "E" version specs says that all boards starting with ver 2.0 support 400
FSB.

Side Bus (FSB) 400. >
(It really does day Ahlon<g>)

Cool...my box states that, as does the user guide.

Now, my question(s) the version on "my" board says "ver 1.01", the BIOS has
a sticker with 1006 (I think the newest BIOS release is 1008)

1. Does ver 2.0 only refer to the non-"E"?
2. Are there advantages/disadvantages of having a "ver 1.01" "E-series"
board over, say a possible 2.0 board?
3. Am I wasting my time and should have already put the thing together and
get ta rock'n?

TIA

Latest bios is 1007 for Non E versions.

Latest bios is 1007 for Non E versions.

That's Questions?

That was my answer regarding latest Bios.
He said 1008
I said latest is 1007 for Non E versions and 1008 for E version.

Thanks to all...

I found most of my answers on different sites.
I guess I was most confused about the version 2.0 of the PCB, which the
subject line should have read "A7N8X -E Deluxe".
The "E" is a newer board (most I gathered) are of the ver 1.01 variety, (but
not replacing the non-E?).
The "E" possibly may be a bit more mature than the non-E.
Yes, (thanks) the newest version of the BIOS is 1008 (for the "E") I read
somewhere that the newer BIOS addresses certain memory problems that varies
with RAM types or Manf.
And yes, I was wasting time...should of been time used for putting it
together

Presently running;
XP Barton 2500 11.0@ 205 2x512 HyperX 3500 2.5 3 3 6 (letting this soak in
for awhile...then going + from here)
