finding printer model in old profile

I have a computer that was recently moved to a new domain. There was a
remote printer set up on that computer before it was moved. Is there any way
I can determine the printer model? I cannot log in to the old domain so that
eliminates the easy option of checking the description in "Printers and
Faxes".

Thank you.

Hello,

to determine what Printer Model was connected:
Go to the Control Panel and click on Printers & Faxes.
From the Toolbar select File -> Server Properties
Click on the Drivers tab
There you can see the installed Printer Drivers

When i have to delete drivers the Hard Way ( purging
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 ) i look beforehand to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PrinterPorts
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers

to copy the names of installed Printers. ( After purging ti all for good I
need to reconnect them afterwards naturally )

From your post i glimpse you still have an old profile of the user, to open
this in regedit you must do the following:

start regedit
click on HKEY_USERS
From the Toolbar select File -> load structure ( or so i´m sitting in front
of a german Win XP right now )
navigate to the old / defunct profile and select NTUSER.DAT
give it a name
now you can search in the old profile
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\PrinterPorts

Greets from Germany
