I want to copy my e-mails to a cd-r. When I follow the Help instructions and
search for folders with .dbx suffixes it shows the various folders in
C:\Documents and Settings\[my name]\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{3.....0}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\.

But I cannot find these folders using Windows Explorer because no sub-folder
called Local Settings appears in the [my name] folder.

thank you for your help. Namson

Open a folder. Go to Tools->Folder Options. Click the "View" tab.
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and select "show hidden
files and folders". It'll ask you if you really wanna do this because
it's dangerous to mess with OS files (blah blah blah). Say okay. You
should find the dbx files after that.

I see many .dbx files in that directory. In Windows Explorer click the
TOOLS menu|FOLDER OPTIONS|VIEW tab and UNhide registered extensions and
hidden files - except system files. Perhaps that will do the deed.
