Finding old 5.25" floppy cases

Way back, there were cases for 5.25" floppies, a bit more than a foot
deep, with a clear plastic hinged lid and usually a simple lock at the
front. As I recall, they were common as dirt. But now that I actually
want to find some, they seem to have all disappeared.

As it turns out they make excellent storage for CDs with those slim
jewel cases. They're easy to flip through, stackable, compact and
cheap. I've dug up all my old cases (8 of them), but they're all full
and I need more.

I've exhausted Google and eBay, and still haven't found any. Does
anyone know of somewhere that still sells them? Or for that matter,
does anyone still have any around that they'd be willing to sell?

Hello, Jimmy:

Using Price Watch <http://www.pricewatch.com>, I found the following
items ($2 apiece), at ToolsPcs.com <http://www.toolspcs.com>:

"Free Ground Shipping-Chintax CD302i-12 CD-ROM Case(Hold 12 pieces-Min. order4)"
<http://www.toolspcs.com/chincd302i1c.html>

"Free Ground Shipping-Chintax CD106i CD-ROM Case(Hold 10 pieces-Min. order5)"
<http://www.toolspcs.com/chincd106icd.html>

Vinyl plastic, alas, and won't accommodate jewel cases, either; not,
exactly, what you're looking for, I guess.

They do come in 5 different colors, though. :-P

Seriously, scrounge around your local, secondhand thrift stores (e.g.,
Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc.). I've stumbled upon the articles in
question (among other computer-related products), at such places,
occasionally.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Cordially,
John Turco <[email protected]>
