I need to find a Maxtor 40GB HD or its firmware.

The part number is 6E040L0510614.

Can anyone help me?

The Maxtor 6E040L0 is Diamond Max 8 HDD. The firmware is the EIDE that is
part of every system.
MaxBlast is used to partioion and format and it runs diagnostics.

I think you'll find that the firmware modules he's talking about are a
damn sight more complex than "the EIDE that is part of every system."
