The backup utility created tons of files with (2) in the filename but
the search function won't find these. Is their a way?

Select all the files with (2) (I don't know if the brackets are a part of
the file names or inverted commas), press F2 and highlight the (2) and
replace it with a desired letter or word.

Yes the bracket with a 2 in it is created by Vista backup when you use the
restore
function and the system won't allow a search with brackets. It seems to
ignore the brackets
in the search..

Thanks

I don't understand, search work fine for me:

1) Create fodler called "Hello (2) folks"
2) Search for (2) or "(2)".
3) Both above searches find the offending folder.

Try naming a file Text_(2).txt It will find that file but will also find
every file on the computer with a 2 in
the filename..

Nice utility Jim, but doesn't really help me. I simply want to delete all
the files with (2) in
the filename. These files were created with the vista backup\restore
utility..
