Is there a utility that finds duplicate file names, those of the same type
and date. I have a bazillion files, from doing backups etc. and I'd like to
eliminate the dups. Does anyone know of a utility that looks for them, then
allows "me" to decide which ones to blast.

Thanks.

There are lots of utilities. There are different abilities for different programs, and you can find many here or here will show you *many* other places to look.

Please use Google before posting to Usenet.
You can find almost anything a lot quicker
that way.

Many apps do this, including Easy Cleaner.
