When FINDFAST is running in the background XP
performance
The FIND FAST search engine is installed and used by
Microsoft Office 2000, Office 97, but not by Office XP.
In the earlier office versions, an application would be
installed in the Control Panel with the binocular icon.
On W2000 and XP, the "Indexing Service" is available as a
system service independent of Office. You can enable or
disable it under "Services and Applications." Once the
Indexing Service is enabled, the XP "Search" program can
do its job faster.
Obviously, it does not make too much sense to have both.
You should probably disable it from Office and enable it
in XP if you really need it.
