Find / Replace area codes in contacts

Hello
Does anyone know how to do a find / replace in Contacts?
We have new area codes for phone numbers and I do not want
to type them all manually.

This requires a substring replacement which can only be done programatically
or through a 3rd party utility like the one described here:
