I have had this need for a long time, but I am just now fed up with
searching manually, so I thought I would ask to see if someone has a
possible solution.
I have hundred's of databases I have created over the years and
frequently I remember I did "something" in an old database which I need
to do again in a new one. So I would like to search all my Access
databases for a value to see which ones have it. That value may be an
object name or maybe some snipet of code somewhere.
So far, I have not found a way to do this. I use Rick Fisher's very
valuable "Find and Replace" add-in, but it only searches the current
database. I know other's have asked him about this feature, I just
don't know if he will be getting to the point of adding it in the near
future.
I have tried using XP's Search, but even though it says "A word or
phrase in the file", it does not really search in Access databases
(understandable).
I have searched the newsgroups for a solution as well, but have not
found anything. I just can't believe I'm the only one that has needed
something like this.
So does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks,
Larry
