I know I can get the IP address of my network card using ipconfig from
a command prompt. Is there an easier way to get the current IP
address?

There is, ie. On XP/2000, if you double click on the LAN
connection, and then go to the Details tab, it will tell
you.

From Windows 9x, you must run winipcfg from the
run/command prompt.

Cmd method takes 6 steps (Start - Run - CMD - Enter - type ipconfig - Enter)
Windows method takes 4 steps (right click MY Network Places - Properties -
double click Local Area Connection - Support)
