In Word 2007, when I go to FIND to look for a word, and then hit FIND NEXT
to find the next instance of the word, there are occasions when I find the
word but move on too quickly to the next instance and would like to go back
to the previous found word. Is there a way to search in reverse ?

Use the Up arrows at the bottom of the vertical scroll bar. When you're
using Find, they have the Find Previous and Find Next functions.

After you use the Find dialog, the "browse target" for the Previous and Next
buttons at the bottom of the vertical scroll bar is set to the Find What that
you just used. So close the Find dialog and use the Previous button (the double
up arrow) or its shortcut, Ctrl+PgUp.

By the way, to change the browse target to any of the other possibilities,
including the usual browse by Page, click the round button between the Previous
and Next buttons and choose from the popup.

Thanks to you and Susan. I'll check out both your suggestions. Meanwhile, I
also discovered if I open the "more" option, there's a choice to search
"up", "down" or "all".
