If I highlight ONE word in a document and select FIND, it pulls that highlighted word into the FIND box

If I highlight MORE THAN ONE word in a document and select FIND, it pulls up the last search I performed

Why can I not search for more than one word by highlighting the text I'm searching for?

All I can think is the translate feature is driving this, because you can only translate one word at a time..

Ideas?

Hi =?Utf-8?B?TWFybGE=?=,

Not a satisfactory answer, I suppose, but "this is how Word was designed
to work". That's just the way it is. Possibly because if it were any other
way, Word would then have to start working out whether the selection would
fit into the "Find" box, and the user would have to be notified if it
wouldn't (because it wouldn't be visible/obvious). Just more complicated
all around.

To work around this, I use Ctrl+C to
copy the selection, then Ctrl+V to paste it into the "Find" box...
If I highlight ONE word in a document and select FIND, it pulls that
highlighted word into the FIND box.
If I highlight MORE THAN ONE word in a document and select FIND, it
pulls up the last search I performed.
Why can I not search for more than one word by highlighting the text I'm searching for?
