I routinely get Word documents that I think are created on a Mac and are full of degree symbols (those tiny circles) that I need to get rid of. I can't cut and paste one into the the Find window. When I try, the computer ends up finding each space between words. Is there a way to search for these marks so I can get rid of them all without doing it manually? I tried adding a new degree mark via the Symbol menu and then pasting it into the Find window, but the search came up with nothing! Thanks.

Those tiny circles are not degree symbols; they're non-breaking spaces, and you can search and replace on the
just as you can on any other character. The keystroke is Shift+Ctrl+Spacebar -- or you can select the special characte
"non-breaking space" in the replace dialog box

If you try this and the search and replace utility still insists on finding every space in the document, fine. Replace it all wit
spaces, then replace two spaces with one
