Find A Contact

I have a user here who is trying to find a contact that he has saved within
his own contact folder. When he enters the name within the Find A Contact
box located on the standard toolbar and hits enter he only gets the names
that are associated with our GAL and not his own contacts. This is for
Outlook 2003 on exchange 2003.

I have tested this within my Outlook and I am able to search for names
within my own contacts.

How do I set his settings up so that he too can search names within his own
contacts folder?

Did he try Advanced Find?
 
The Find a Contact window on the Standard toolbar works in the GAL and any
Contacts Folder that is an Address Book. Check the settings of their
Contacts Folder:

Right click the folder, Properties, address book, make sure it is shown as
an Outlook address book.

The user refuses to use the advance find option becasue he used to be able to
just enter the name and hit enter and it would locate it. He would like to
have this resolved. Using advance find will force him to click multiple
times.
 
How did my suggestions work? They work for all other sites where I have
ever seen this problem.

I have checked the users settings and he does in fact have his contacts set
up as an additional address book. Any other suggestions?

what is his 'search in' setting? Also - if there is a match in the first
address list in the search in order, outlook stops searching. This means if
he types Bob in the field and there is a bob in the gal, it stops searching
once the gal search is completed. It will not look for more bob's in any
other folders. If he searches for Mary and there are no mary's in the GAL,
outlook moves onto the next address list.

Search order: open the address book using tools, address book. look on
tools, options - last list.
