Final Try

I use MS Outlook from Office 2003 and am XP.

Since a recent reformat, opening an email take nearly 60 seconds. When
it finally is open, there is a band header which says 'You are now
viewing this message in the Internet Zone' - which makes me wonder if
somehow IE is jumping in to open it, hence the long delay.

I have been through everything in Word, Outlook and IE trying to solve
this. I went to ms.com and did all the updates and downloads, but it
remains the same.

Fairly frequently I get a Programme Not Responding message and also
the damn This Programme has to close.

If I thought it would help, I would do a complete uninstall and
re-install of Office but it's not the option of choice I prefer. I
have been posting for three days hoping someone would have at least
some suggestions.

Needless to say, I would appreciate any suggestions.

"Internet Zone"; this sounds like a firewall expression to me. Do you
have a software firewall installed that could issue this message?

The problem was solved yesterday afternoon by a friend, you're nearly
spot on. Prior to the reformat I used Spybot along with Adaware.
After reformat, Adaware and 4 Square.

Under Control Panel, Security, and clicking on the red 0 symbol, up
came a list of all sorts of sites deposited there by Spybot that were
deemed too risky.

In essence my emails were being checked against these addresses each
time I went to open one.

Took forever to eliminate them, had to be done one by one ( it
actually took two hours and I'm pretty good at clicking) Four would
not be removed at all. After a reboot, voila, email opens instantly.
Thanks for your answer though, I was reaching desperation point and
figuring maybe the only answer was to switch to the dreaded Outhouse
Express for email :)

It's the Internet network zone that IE keeps track of on Tools>Internet
Options>Security
