final fantasy vii

Anyone get the final fantasy games to run in direct3d on their cards
or are we doomed to software rendering mode?
 
I've never been able to get FF7 to even reliably run. Seems game
was/is known to have problems yet developer never acknowledged any and
never provided any kind of patch etc.

I ended up playing the game using a burned PS1 copy under an emulator.
It's also one of "the" few games that convinced me to never buy
another game until I can actually see it running on MY system, if that
means burned cd and no-cd crack ... well f*ck-em as it's almost
impossible to get your money back etc. Geez, can't even trust game
will work same as demo does.

P.S. Thankfully, PC version of FF8 worked np, wish they also offered
FF9, FF10 etc. for PC :(

FF7 ran fine for me. No problems that I can recall.
