Hi,

Many of my accounts are linked to several categories simultaneously.

I want to be able to sort them effectively. For example one account might be
linked to the following catgegories:

Region
Type
Previous Client

How do I filtern by category - otherwise in a large email mailout via
category - an account could get the same email three or four times?

Thanks,

Jonathan

View Arrange By | Current View | Define Views ... create anew view that
groups by category. it will be a list view.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for that input but I am still not getting the result I need.

I have no problem viewing by category but filtering is still the problem.
For example an account may be in the categories, New Client, Eastern Region,
High Sales Volume.

BCM, in the standard category view seems to recreate the one account under
three categories. It will appear under the new client category, the eastern
region gategory etc...

I need to be able to run a query where I can request an account to be
filtered by the category requests I make.

In the standard category view it only shows the account lsited by ONE
category, even though it may belong to four categories?

Thanks Bill, hope this didn't confuse too much!

I get what you mean. You might be able to come close by creating a Custom
view with an Advanced Filter that has the three Categories then modify the
filter in the SQL tab and change OR to AND. You'd need to do this for every
grouping you have.

Hi Bill,

Thanks again for your efforts.

IN the end this seemed not to work. I am probably going to ditch BCm and go
to a web based CRM system.

Thanks for trying.
