Is there a freeware filter for DOS/Windows that will extract email
headers? I know Unix filters that can do this but anything for
Win/DOS?

One possible solution is to install Cygwin on your windows machine. I am
pretty sure that procmail is available to run under this environment.

There may be a standalone Windows procmail binary, but I did not spend
anytime looking for one.

Cygwin is available here if interested:

Thanks for your reply....I was trying to avoid cygwin because it seemed
too much since all I need is a simple filter. I have not been able to
find a win binary of procmail so I guess cygwin is the way to go....

One thing to consider is how minimal of a Cygwin installation that can be
made and still get procmail to work. Maybe only a couple of packages are
needed.

Another possibility is to ask about a Windows binary for Procmail on the
Procmail mailing list.

Also, a good place to search for software is http://www.freshmeat.net.
There is a lot of Unix/Linux stuff there, but there is also Windows stuff
there too. Maybe someone is working on a Procmail like program for
Windows.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks Frank, I will check freshmeat.net and the procmail list before I
install cygwin...
