Fill Down

Yesterday I asked a question regarding filling down
information that has been left blank. There were a
number of great responses, but they all missed the point
entirely so I am going to try again. I did not want to
start a new question on this but my reply to those
responses has gone unanswered.

THE PROBLEM: Account codes are only on the first row of
information with a list of between 500-2500 entries below
it...then the next account codes appears with its
entries. I need to AUTOMATICALLY copy the account codes
onto each of the entries, without stopping at each
manually.

Using F5, blanks, "=", then indicating which cell I want
to copy works great, except that I have thousands of
pages that need to be done in one day. I need to
automate the system so that the blank spaces below an
entry are copied down UNTIL a new number is reached and
then that number is filled down, UNTIL it reaches the
next new number and then that number is filled down. I
can't accomplish this by using F5 - that would take a
hours upon hours to complete.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

Sounds like the folks yesterday may have narrowly missed.
I think the only piece that your missing is after using
F5, blanks, you need to enter into the fist cell (after
all of the blank cells are highlighted) "=", +"up arrow",
then "control" and "enter". This should automatically
fill in each blank cell with the account code. If this is
still missing the mark please reword your question of give
a brief illustration.

Hope this helps,

Eric
