I setup a new windows xp machine and joined my domain.
Now the profie is copied to my home folder and all of my
files have dissappeared. When I right click on my home
folder, it says I have 100+ files, but only the 10 objects
from my local profile are displayed. According to one
Microsoft Article 182079, previously published under
Q182079 it says the files are deleted. But why is it
telling me that I have all of these files still? I really
need to get these files back and have not created my
backup system yet.

Please help!
 
Maybe they are only deleted from the home directory. Have you tried doing a
search in Windows Explorer for the files?
