files won't open

Upon clicking on a weblink while browsing, I received a message that it was
necessary to download a language update (Japanese) and restart in order to
reach the particular webpage. I did without looking too closely. Now neither
my word or excel files will open and instead every time I try to open a file
a window pops up saying that Windows is downloading Office XP PRofessional
with Frontpage but it can't until I put the CD in. Then I cancel...
Any advice on how to fix this? I'm at a complete loss

Insert the Office XP CD and do *not* cancel. If this does not resolve
the problem, try here:
