When I'm in IE and click on a mp3 file or movie clip it wants to save it to
my harddrive. All I want it to do is play the file automatically. What do I
have to do?

For most (but not all) file types.....

You set this for each file type.
Explorer-View-Folder Options-File Types
Find the association
Edit, (or click Advanced on ME or XP) and uncheck the "Confirm open
after download" box

The path to Folder Options may vary according to your operating
system. It may be:
Explorer-View-Folder Options
Explorer-Tools-Folder Options
Start-Settings-Folder Options
Start-Settings-Control Panel-Folder options.

In microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.browser, "jeffs"

Alan, I tried what you said and it still wants to save to my hardrive. Note:
This is a new computer running Window Xp Media Center 2005 edition and has
Window Media player 10, if that makes a difference. Any other suggestions??

Sure hope someone can come up with a solution to this.

I've posted the problem three or four times now, tried
all suggestions with no change at all in the behavior.

In my case, both Netscape and Firefox work fine on
the pages in question, only IE gives that pop-up.
