I was using a laptop that showed my adobe files in a folder as a picture of
what was on the first page of the file. I have tried to figure out how to
make this happen on my laptop, but cannot get it to work. I have gone in and
changed the folder type, but it doesn't work either. When I had listed as
Thumbnails on the other laptop, it showed the picture of each file.

If you graphics are in a folder, let's say Graphics:
Click once on the folder.
On the Toolbar click Views > Thumbnails.
All folders in the Graphics folder will now have graphics of graphics in
the folder on them.

If you want the folders within to show as graphics when you open the
folder:
Open the folder containing the graphics and select Thumbnails from toolbar

When I go into the folder that has the Adobe files and hit thumbnails, I got
the adobe picture, not the graphics of the file. I just cannot figure out
how to make it show the graphics, not the adobe picture.

Select T and scroll to thumbnails.
