I have a new computer with MS XP Home. After typing a document I try to Save
As to my CD as I would the Floppy. Office on line instructions says click my
COMPUTER then select the file you want to copyyou want filed, then under FILE
AND FOLDER TASK click COPY THIS FILE. next , IN THE COPY ITEM S DIALOG BOX
CLIP copy. None of this works because all of the above doesnt appear in the
box as described.

I just want to be able to type a document, then file in my Floppy (A) or on
the the CD.

Hi Martin,

Your best bet is to save the file to your hard drive. Then copy to a CD or
floppy. It is not a good idea to save directly to a CD or floppy as the file
may become corrupted.

If you want to be able to use your documents, when working within Word, act
as if your floppy drive does not exist! (This applies to CDRW/CDR drives as
well.)
Don't use Word to:
Open a document on a floppy
Print a document on a floppy
Edit a document on a floppy
Save a document to a floppy (not even a copy)

Word regularly trashes documents on floppy drives!

Instead, work on the document using your hard drive. Copy it back and forth
using Windows.

I know that for some with shared computers (libraries, schools) this is a
tough prescription. All I can recommend for that is to use a brand new
formatted disk each time you save and don't do any editing.
