Hello.
I have a friend who just recently attempted to access her files on her Flash
Drive
She opens the flash drive and nothing is there.
the Show hidden files and folder tool doesn't work
she safely removes the drive every time she has finished with it
Is there another way to get them to reappear?

Thanks

Samsta

Seems that her copmputer is infected with virus. I have seen this kind of
viruses on many PC where it disable the functionality of Show Hidden Files
and Folders. When you enable "Show Hidden Files and Folder", it
automatically moves back to "Do not show hidden files". Mostly caused by
virus and registry entry corruption. Secondly, it hides the folders and it
seems that the folder are being removed. Have you checked the Properties of
Flash Drive? What is the remaining capacity of free disk if there is no
folder on it? If it is still using space that means there is some hidden
data on it.

Read the above article to repair "Show Hidden Files and Folder option" and
then check your data. It could be possible that virus may again corrupt your
registry entry. So, once you recover your data you must clean her PC from
virus infection.

Hope this help, let us know!

"the program" is Restoration 2.5.14 Freeware undelete:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html from another part of the
thread, right?
on my desktop I attempt to open them and it won't let me.

What's the error message when you attempt to open a file? If the error
is a permissions issue, try this:

How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308421

There was nothing to do with permissions it just says that it was an invalid
file.
I try to open the pictures they show no preview and they open invalid as
well

I assume they are now corrupted and there is little you can do.
I have had success with that program but if the drive has since been
used, the files can get partially overwritten and can be useless
