Running IE7 uninstalled several time to see if the it fixes the problem.

Basically when I view the contents of the cd/dvd they are all displayed as
web page documents. I can drag the files off the cd. It's defiantly a IE7
related problem, any fixes about?

Did you check your file extensions? What type of files are they? I doubt
it would be a IE7 problem as the registry tells the system how to open a
particular file extension.

Open up Explorer or My Computer's address bar.

Tools ~> Folder Options ~> File Types... find your extension and make sure
it's set correctly to the program you want to open it with.

Don't use large icons.
Change then to something smaller.
