We have the following setup:
Win2000 server network with Win XP workstations.
When a user performs a file search based on text in the document on a
network share, typically all excel files in that directory and
subdirectories stay locked on that users account. If someone else tries to
open the file with Excel, they will receive a message saying the file is in
use by (the last user who modified that particular spreadsheet)someone else,
not being the user who performed the search operation. Confused, I am too.
Does this sound familiar or rings a bel. Please help
