files lock-out

I can not use my old har-drive as my master any more
because I tried to install sp1 with an illegal key
(microsoft must of done something because I could not boot
my computer afterword). So I bought a new hard drive and I
also I have a legal key now. I am using my old hard-drive
as a slave now. However I can not open the files from my
old hard-drive because you needed a password before. Itried
to open in safe mode without success. any ideas.

Have you tried taking ownership of the files?
