It takes many minutes for an average size (say 10 pages with minimal gaphics) power point file to load into the application. Any suggestions on what to check in order to fix this problem?

Well oddly enough I seem to have resolved this problem, but I'm not exactly sure
why. I suspect it was the installation of the latest office sp3. Although I
thought I tested it just before posting to the group, and after sp3 install. The
only other changes I made were to Outlook where I also resolved some performance
problems related to pst folder encryption that was causing slow performance.
That seems like an unlikely connection, unless it had to do with somehow causing
my whole system to slow down.
thanks

The files are all local. Also it was files of any size. But now following installing Office SP3, and setting up my Outlook personal folder files so they are no longer using compressible encryption, Every file loads instantly in Powerpoint
