Hi,,,
I am using Outlook 2007 more and more these days,,,
I travel a lot and use All Day Events in Calendar to keep track of my Flight
Dates.
In a attempt to be more organised, i have shifted all my flight itineraries
and boarding passes etc as pdf files in the respective appointment / events
within my Calendar.
I actually moved them there and so they are not stored in Directories in my
Docs any more ,, thought this was a good way to have the info organised and
all the relevant files would all be stored in one place (within my
outlook.pst file)
Everything seems fine, However,,,
when i open any of these files and select "properties" to see where they are
located
this is the Path,,,
C:\Documents and Settings\Jane\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.Outlook\1Q0JECKM

Is this a good thing ? ,,
i seem to remember someting in explorer that deletes all temp internet files.
That wouldnt be good
Can i change the default location ?

When you open the file, a temporary copy of it gets created in the \temp
folder - this is normal and expected.

The original will remain attached to the calendar item in Outlook.

You can delete the temporary files if you want, or they should get deleted
when you restart Windows.

they should get deleted when you restart Windows.

This is not typically the case. Outlook itself appears to be maintaiing the
Outlook Secure Temp folder, not Windows. Even though it is usually a
subfolder of Temporary Internet Files, emptying that folder with, say,
"Internet Options" from IE or Control Panel doesn't touch the Outlook Seciure
Temp folder. Windows appears to completely ignore it. Moreover, you can move
that folder elsewhere and its behavior doesn't change. This is another
indication that Outlook itself, not Windows, manages the folder.
