I give up. I've been searching for the answer
for an hour.
When I click on one of my Files or Folders they
open up to the Search view rather than their
actual contents. I assume I've clicked on
something that made them change but can't
figure out what or how to get them back to
the normal viewing. Help !
Thanks !

This is a real common problem.

Try this first.

Click Start | Click Run | Type or paste the following line:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Click OK.

A tip from David Candy.

If that doesn't fix it, see these...

What were you trying to delete in the registry?

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/searchwindow.htm says nothing about deleting
anything.

Try this first.

Click Start | Click Run | Type or paste the following line:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Then click OK.

If that doesn't fix the problem, go here...
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_folder_open.htm

xp_folder_open.vbs will make the necessary change to the system Registry to
correct this.

Download folder_open.vbs and save this file to your hard drive. Navigate to
where you saved it and double click the file. A confirmation dialog will
appear when finished.

Thanks so much Wesley. It worked ! Case closed,
for me at least.
One of the postings said MS knew of this bug and
was going to
issue a fix. Has the fix come out or is the link
you gave me the fix?
Again, Thanks !
