My brother has a problem with his computer. Whenever he starts up or
switches users, he gets 5 message boxes, each of which says something like
"the following file has encountered a problem and needs to close". He has
to check ok for each of these, and then the system seems to operate ok, but
it takes about 4 or 5 minutes total to go thru this. The five files are as
follows: apibm.exe, msdj.exe, ipjx32,exe, ipxh.exe, and d3ag32.exe.

I just ran Norton anti virus for him, and some trojan infections were found
and quarantined, but it didn't solve this problem.

Any idea what is wrong?

Thanks,

Jack

It depends upon what malware infected the computer and what damage it
did. Just because a trojan is quaranteened doesn't mean the damage has
been repaired.

Then how do I repair the damage?
Thanks
