Yesterday, on two machines in our office, certain files in
the Documents and Settings folders disappeared. Everything
in My Documents. All Outlook Express folders. All
favorites and cookies and all personal settings for
logging in and using apps (i.e., we were required to
register programs again that we'd been using for months).
NTUSEr.dat and log are not the same. Many dates on the
files remaining are from 12/2002.
There is no virus detected by my updated McAfee and the
other person uses Norton. No virus. What happened? Any
clues?
We've run countless searches for the missing files, in
case they were just moved or renamed, but no luck. They
seem to be gone. Is there any chance of restoration of
these files?
Thanks,
