Files changing attributes when copied to CD

I recently tried to copy a folder full of video clips from the HD to CD-RW. I'm still trying to get used to the CD WRITING WIZARD, but am pretty sure I followed all instructions. (It ain't brain surgery<bg>). Under Win98se, it was a simple drag n drop process....the "Wizard" just makes it more complicated IMHO. When the files are on my hard drive, they are "normal". When they are copied to CD, they all become "read-only".

If I try and copy them back to the HD, I get a "are you sure you want to move this read-only file"? message.
If I try and delete them, I get an "access violation...access is denied" message. The only way I can get rid of them is to completely erase the CD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you have found is normal for the built in CD
recording software in XP.

Windows 98se did not have built-in CD writing tools. The XP built-in tools
creates a CD that is read-only. Once you move the files around, the
read-only attributes follow.
