files access problem

i was using microsoft win xp pro and i have made my files
and folders private.
for some reasons i took mu hard disk to office and put it
in my pc for copying data ... my pc in office is running
win2k server and at home is win xp pro.
at office access was denied on files due to win xp PRIVACY

i made all permisions to EVERYONE at security tab in
win2kserver and it worked
but when i took back my hard disk to home
and i put it back on my pc then win xp is denieng access
to those files and folders i have changed permisions to
everyone in win2k
what should i do now have any suggesttions......
