I use a website which allows me to print a schedule with information. I can
chose a format and then it opens that format in the associated program. From
there I can print the schedule. I have the following file choices. .pdf,
..xls, .txt, .rtf, .htm, .tif They all work and open in a new window except
the xls and rtf extensions. Essentially the ones requireing word or excel.
I have no problems opening those types of files otherwise. Those files will
open on a computer operating with xp sp-1 but not with my other computer
using xp-sp2.. I am using Zone alarm and both programs are allowed internet
access. Any website that has a xl or word form that I can click on to open
works properly and I get the question do I want to download or save. When
I chose those .rtf or .xls format on the xp sp1 computer i get the screen
that asks me if I want to open or save the file, The xp-2 computer tries to
open the file a new screen pops up for a brief second and then disappears.
Any ideas, do I have a setting wrong?
