You can use Media Player version 10 for ripping Media files to MP3.. But I
prefer a free 3rd party solution for coverting my music back and forth... I
use CDEX, which is easy to find if you Google it.. Does not take long to
setup, and is easy to use. Converts both ways..

There are quite a few 3rd party solutions available, but this one suits me
perfectly.

It depends. ;)

The .mpv format has been in a state of flux for quite a while. Depending
upon where you got the .mpv file may dictate what you can do to convert it
to something else.
