After installing Macromedia's Studio MX, all my .jpg and .gif files became
associated with Macromedia's Flash, so double clicking them would open them
in Flash. I went into Windows Explorer, Tools tab, Folder Options, File
Types tab, and changed the "Opens With" to Windows Picture and Fax viewer.

Now, they open with the right program, but they all still have the little
Flash icon next to them. When I go back into the File Type dialog box, they
show the right icon next to them (the little Windows pic viewer icon), but
in Windows Explorer file view, plus all the Open, Save As dialog boxes,
etc., the little Flash icon is still next to all the jpg's and gif's.

How can I fix that? And, if you have the time to explian, how did this
"sticking icon" problem happen?

Thanks for any help.

On Windows XP Pro, all current patches/updates, etc.

In the File Types tab, select the file type, and then click the Advanced
button. Click the "Change Icon" button.
