Can someone please direct me to a WinXP resource that will tell me exactly
how to fix a file type association? I've scoured the 'net and have come up
dry. Also, I do not have the "Open With" option on my right-click context
menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ~ bjfb

Click Doug's link below, then XP-FIXES. There you will see links to
association and file type fixes.

Hi,

How you fix it depends largely on the file type. Also, the "open with"
option is also dependent on what you are right-clicking on. What, exactly,
are you trying to achieve?

Here is my original post, which I received no replies to. Maybe it will
answer your question: :-)

"Anytime I clicked on an Internet Shortcut icon from my desktop, it was
bringing up my Printer Properties. I went to the Control Panel/Folder
Options/File Types and messed with the Internet Shortcut within "Registered
File Types". Now I've really got it out of whack. All I want to do is
restore the correct path so that when I click on a desktop shortcut icon, it
will work!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ~ bjfb"

Dev,
THANK YOU SO MUCH! After spending my long weekend trying to fix this, your
link to "Kelly's Korner" did the trick. For anyone else who needs to know
the fix, I highly suggest that site!
I went to the Windows XP File Association Fixes list and d'loaded the URL
File Association Fix (Restores default associations for URL - Internet
shortcuts).
Simple as that .. and thanks again :-)
