How can I control what program is used to open a file with of a certain type
in IE 6.0.
When I click on a .pdf file in IE it opens Adobe Acrobat 5.0 but when
clicked in the Windows Explorer it uses Adobe Reader 7.0 as it is supposedc
to according to the file type associaton in the Windows Explorer / Tools /
Folder Options / File Types.

Hi Jon,

This is a particular bugbear of mine as well. To be honest, if you have
Acrobat 5.0 you don't need Reader 7.0.

Try this (remembering its been a while since I did this). In Acrobat 5.0
search for and disable any internet related options. In Reader make sure
the relevant options are enabled. It may be that Acrobat's settings are
overriding the free Reader.
