JUST BOUGHT A NEW COMPUTER,DELL 4100.I WANT TO TRANSFER
FILES FROM OLD TOSHIBA(PEOPLEPC)TO NEW UNIT.AM USING
WINDOWSXP IN NEW,WINDOWS98 IN OLD.HAVE READ INSTRUCTIONS
ON MICROSOFT SUPPORT SITE.CAN I USE MY XP CD IN THE OLD
UNIT JUST TO TRANSFER,OR DO I NEED TO INSTALL?IF SO,CAN I
INSTALL IT IN OLD COMPUTER,SINCE IT'S ACTIVATED ON NEW
UNIT?ANY OTHER PROBLEMS YOU ALL CAN THINK OF,ANY HELP
WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.I'M AT WORK,PLEASE EMAIL ME

Typing in all caps is considered shouting - there is no reason to yell at us
here. ;-)

You don't need to install to use the file and settings transfer wizard - you
should be able to select that as an option from the screen that auto-runs
when you insert the CD. Just use the wizard to collect your settings and
then move them to your new Windows XP machine. Collection will run on any
operating system - you can also make a boot disk that does the same thing
when you run the wizard on XP.
