I want to transfer a number of files from an older
computer using Windows 95, to a newer computer using
Windows XP. The Windows 95 computer has no CD, only the
small floppy.
This is a one-time thing, so I don't want to invest in
expensive software.

There are many ways to do this. Some are more suitable if you
have a lot of data to transfer, others if you have only a little.

I'll mention only two ways you might not have thought of:

1. E-mail them to yourself on the Windows 95 computer, and read
the E-mail on the XP one.

2. Disconnect the hard drive on the Windows 95 computer, and
connect it on the XP One (either temporarily or permanently).
