I recently baught a newer computer to replace my old one, both are running
windowsXP. I wanted to run File Transfer Wizard over my small network made
up of computer all running Windows XP and all are on the same workgroup.
However, when I open FTW it show's the network transfer is not an option. Is
there something that could be causing FTW not to recognise that I have a
network connected? Any help would be nice!

hey vince

are you running XP Home edition or Professional. you
shouldn't have to go and use FTW. if the network is
working and all computers are set to administrator then
there should be no problem creating a folder right
clicking and sharing it.

Have you verified that the two computers are able to share files and folders
over the network?

I have folders and files shared on both computers. One is running xp pro and
the other is running server xp 2003. I believe FTW is used to tranfer files
from an old computer to a new (I think it includes registry entries) that is
why I was trying to use it.
