I am trying to transfer some folders from anld windows 95
200 Mghz desktop to a new Dell 8500 P4M 1Gig Ram using the
file and settings transfer wizard that is a part of XP
Pro. I am using a null modem serial cable connected to
each (I had from Laplink 3.0 bought MANY years ago).
There are a lot of large jpg files, but this has been
transferring for 2 days now. I believe it is "stalled",
however, when looking at the hard drive activity on the
Dell 8500, the CPU is running at 100% with only 1 process
active - this one (I closed everything else that was not
necessary for the transfer) The RAM and CPU usage changes
regularly - looks like, sounds like, it is working.
Should I let it go, or stop it? Of course, my fear is
that it really is going to take this long and if I stop
it, I will lose 2 days worth of transferred files.
Opinions, please? Thanks in advance for any help given!
