Have just upgraded to Win XP system with DVD multiformat
drive R/RW. I also have a USB removable flash drive(pen)

I have tried to use the "Files transfer wizard" program in
Win XP but the wizard program does not recognise the DVD
R/RW or the flash drive as being "removable" so I can get
no further with this method of transfering my files from
old to new machine (no floppy drive fitted to new machine).

I know I can fit the old drive into the new machine to
achieve the desired result but in order not to invalidate
the warrenty I am reluctant to use this option.
Can anyone suggest why the drives are not listed in the
wizard options. They appear on the normal drive option
list

Create the file on the hard drive. Then move it to other media to transfer.

Do use the DVD Rewriter you need to use third party software such as
Easy CD Creator or Nero 6. To use the flash drive you need to assign a
drive letter to it to be able to write to it (use Disk Management
tool). Try using 'Other' rather than 'Removable drives' in FTW.
