File system error

while checking permissions via xp using the effective permission tab I get
the following error:

windows cannot calculate the effective permissions for user..

has anyone seen this before?
 
Yes, this is normally caused by NTFS file encryption. When somebody
has encrypted the file, others might not be able to open the file, or
see the effective permissions.
