We have a server running W2K Server and somehow they have a drive that has a
folder structure that far exceeds the allowed limit of Win2K and when I try
to copy the folder and move it to a new Hard Drive I get the message "File
System Error (1148)".

Its mission critical data and needs to be moved to the new hard drive since
some of the other simular HDs that were in the server are starting to flake
out. What is my best solution to move this data to a new Hard Drive? We plan
to migrate to Win2003 R2 within the next few months, but need a solution for
now. Thanks!!!

I am greatly puzzled as to how someone can have mission-
critical data that is not backed up to several independent
backup media. Hmm.

I would temporarily connect the disk as a slave disk to a
WinXP or Win2003 server. Failing this, I would boot the
machine with a Knoppix boot disk - maybe it can cope with
the disk structure.
